This exquisite Shakyamuni Buddha statue is handmade in Kathmandu, Nepal by a 5th generation crafting family.  Each bronze statue is made using the lost wax method, which takes considerable time and skill.  After casting, each statue is hand detailed and carved by master craftsmen.

The incredibly detailed painting of these statues are done by artist Meenu Shakya.  Her work is unique and especially meaningful for her as it allows her to stay home while raising her two young children.  We are the first shop to offer these masterpiece statues to the Western public.

The Shakyamuni Buddha was a spiritual master who lived and taught in modern day India and Nepal. Shakyamuni taught others to be awakened to the true nature of reality and freed from suffering.
