• An incredibly rare ancient agate Sulemani bead from DharmaShop founder, Sander Cohen's curated collection of specialty beads.  This specific bead was collected in Kathmandu.
• Ancient beads like this one, whether made from carnelian, sardonyx, or agate, were often used not only for decoration, but also as protection amulets to shield the wearer from negativity or evil.
  
• The age of this ancient agate Sulemani bead is estimated to be between 600 and 1,000 years old or more.  Hand strung at the DharmaShop on an adjustable gold-filled chain.

Some Sulemani agate beads were often used as prayer beads as they were believed to ensure health and longevity.  This gorgeous dark agate bead has a single stripe down the center with some chips and agate banding that show its antiquity.  These imperfections come from age and are considered auspicious.

Agate is known to be a stone of strength, and can help to balance yin/yang energies, courage, protection, healing, and calming. 

Adjustable necklace measures approximately 22 inches around and can be tightened as desired.  Bead measures about 0.37 inch long and 0.25 inch wide.
