• This true antique bodhi seed mala was purchased directly by the DharmaShop team in Kathmandu.  It is very rare to find bodhi beads this small with an average bead size of 9mm!
• Made of 108 small, well used dark bodhi beads.  Each bead is rich in color with a beautiful sheen as well as its own shape and texture.  Mala has been restrung in recent years on bold red cord in a unique fashion with 3 antique bodhi accents.
• These dark-speckled seed beads have special meaning for all seekers of divine wisdom.  "Bodhi" in Sanskrit means enlightenment; as an "enlightened" seed, many practitioners use these malas for their essence and inherent teachings within each seed.

On their trip to Nepal in October 2019, DharmaShop owners, Christy and Sander Cohen met a Tibetan gentleman on the steps of the monastery just outside of the Boudhanath Stupa.  He had a small collection of gorgeous antiques from which Sander and Christy were able to purchase a handful of high quality bodhi malas.  We were able to find the same seller and source a handful of truly incredible antique bodhi seed malas from him once again!

Mala measures approximately 36 inches around.  Beads are 9-10mm with most being 9mm.  Guru bead is about 18mm.  Comes with a traditional silk and polyester keepsake bag!
