Prayer wheels were one of the original items Sander offered at DharmaShop. After the earthquakes in 2015, many of the woodworkers left their shops to help repair and restore heritage sites in Kathmandu. We couldn't be happier to reconnect with them and bring another amazing prayer wheel with wooden base back to our DharmaShop community!
The body of the wheel is made with a special combination of 3 metals: copper, brass, and white metal. It is believed these materials have healing abilities based on the metal’s energy conducting properties. When the wheel is turned clockwise, it sends the prayers to the universe thereby generating good karma.
The wheel features 2 lines of the mantra of compassion, Om Mani Padme Hum, in Sanskrit script along with the 8 Auspicious Symbols. This mantra invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion. The 8 Auspicious Symbols represent offerings the gods made to the Buddha after his enlightenment. It is believed that each of these symbols have powers to bring blessings.
The entire wheel and base measure approximately 7 inches tall and 7 inches at the widest point. Includes 1 mounting bracket.
The red wax seal is a mark of trust, transparency, and tradition. Applied in Nepal, it certifies that your item was ethically sourced—not taken from a monastery or temple—and approved for export. If your item doesn’t have a seal, it was likely shipped with others under a group certification and still underwent the same careful inspection.
